Like any surgery sometimes getting an appointment can be difficult but the GP's will give you permission to insist in certain circumstances ie a follow up appointment or appointments for the terminally ill or elderly who can get confused with modern technology and phone queueing systems but all in all a fab surgery. I have been a patient for over 30yrs

I came for my flu jab today and as ever I was greeted with a warm smile and cheery welcome from the assistant nurse that I see quite regularly. Fortunately I arrived early to my appointment and had some cake whilst waiting as a charity event was happening in the surgery. I think all local health care services should be more involved in organising such events. It was great to walk into a 'happy, positive' atmosphere when there's so much negativity on the news about how poor the NHS is. I will always recommend this surgery, they go above and beyond. Ok its difficult to get an appointment and that will always be frustrating but isn't everywhere the same? I'm reassured when I am seen because I'm listened to and made to feel that my needs and worries are important and actioned. A great staff team.

I didn't attend for an appointment today but went to pick up my prescription and the surgery were holding a cake sale and raffle draw to raise money for the breast cancer charity. I was so impressed with the friendly staff who were there selling the cakes and talking with the patients around them, laughing and having a wonderful time. What a great thing to see a surgery helping out people on top of doing it for a job. It'd be lovely to see more of this happening here and I truly hope they have managed to raise a great overall donation for all their hard work that appeared to have been put it in. I was left truly impressed. Well done

I went for my 'Flu jab with Claire (practice nurse). She alerted me to the availability of a Pneumonia jab as well. I didn't feel a thing with either of them, so no need for anyone to be put off by a needle! She also alerted me to my overdue blood tests for an underlying heart condition. I have the appointment set for next week

I find Dr Uppal kind, attentive and helpful. He is always welcoming and appears relaxed although in the midst of a busy surgery. He is able to put across his point of view without being abrupt or offensive, even when it is something we may disagree with. He likes to take one step at a time and so I feel this makes his approach to a problem and treatment clear. The only difficulty I have is the change in the way appointments are made. The difficulty of having too many patients and not enough doctors seems to have necessitated this. Ringing in to get an appointment is difficult enough at times, ringing in to receive a telephone call to see if one has an appointment is more difficult - because of the nature of work, I am not always being able to receive a call, or if one does there is nowhere confidential to discuss the issue with doctor. The loss of making appointments in the future is a shame as most of my needs are not urgent and can be planned- which adds to the frustrating after trying to get through to get an appointment to find the doctor you want on holiday (which is avoided with a routine appointment system). It also clogs up the phone system for the urgent cases. Saying that I can usually get to see/ speak to the doctor I want because I try to choose days when I can have a return phone call where I can. It seems a shame that routine appointments are treated the same as urgent ones in this respect.
